Dodge announces that orders are already full for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat!

January 29th, 2021 by

When Dodge announced last year that they were finally making Mopar fans’ dreams reality by stuffing the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi into the Dodge Durango to create the new 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat — the most powerful three-row SUV on the planet, with 710 horsepower on tap — we knew that it was gonna go fast!

Mostly, we were talking about stuff like zero-to-60 and quarter mile times. Now we know that it SOLD fast, too. Even though orders for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat only opened in November, Dodge recently announced that other than a handful of dealer-allocated units, the entire 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat production run of 2,000 units has already sold out before the first one ever rolled off the assembly line!

With a starting price of $80,995 and only 2,000 examples being sold for what Dodge promises will be a one-year-only model, fans of Dodge Performance are clearly betting that the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is not only going to be an e-ticket, seven seat thrill ride, it’s also a smart investment in the future, with limited-production-run super-high-performance Dodge vehicles of the past — including the one-year-only, 800-plus-horsepower 2018 Dodge Demon — continuing to skyrocket in resale value on the collector and enthusiast market.

“The 2021 Durango Hellcat is only a single model-year run, ensuring that it will be a very special, sought-after performance SUV for years to come,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand and Interim Chrysler Brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis. “Based on anticipated demand, all dealer allocations have already been reserved, but there is still some time to secure an unsold dealer order.”

It’s easy to see why Dodge fans snapped up 2021 Durango Hellcat. In addition to a high-horsepower supercharged Hemi and bulletproof TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission similar to those that power modern missiles like the 2021 Dodge SRT Challenger and Charger Hellcat models, the 2021 Durango is a very comfortable, spacious, family-friendly and capable three-row SUV in its own right, with room for seven passengers.

Dodge has basically built the muscle car of SUVs, with zero-to-60 time of 4.5 seconds and National Hot Rod Association-certified quarter-mile timeslips of 11.5 seconds at 180 miles per hour. Simply put, the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is pretty much a dragstrip terror that can also handle the school pickup lane, your next roadtrip, or the 9-to-5 commute without a hitch, while running ordinary premium pump gas. Who could ask for anything more?
