Ram debuts the 2021 Ram Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition!
It’s been 75 years since Dodge reinvented the way Americans get to work, with the introduction of the 1945 Dodge Power Wagon. Based on incredibly rugged military-spec 4×4 trucks Dodge had turned out by the tens of thousands to help Allied forces free the world from tyranny during World War II, the ’45 Dodge Power Wagon was the first mass-produced 4×4 pickup, giving Americans looking to go off-road all-wheel-drive capability and incredible hauling and towing capacity at a time when pretty much the only other option to go off-roading was buying a war-surplus Jeep.
To help celebrate 75 years of Power Wagon, Ram — which spun off from Dodge as its own brand in 2010 — has introduced a truck worthy of a celebration: the new 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition. Packing exclusive badging and exterior colors, loads of luxurious standard features, and all the ready-for-anything engineering and off-road capability you could ask for, the 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon could just be the greatest Power Wagon in history!
“The 2021 Ram Power Wagon is the most capable production off-road truck in the industry,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand. “There are few vehicles with as long and as rich a history as the Power Wagon and, combined with our new Ram 1500 TRX, the launch of the 75th Anniversary Edition reinforces Ram Truck’s position as the off-road truck leader.”
Building on the already-incredible capability and aggressive good looks of the 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is a tall order in itself, but the look of the 75th Anniversary Power Wagon set it apart. Outside, the 2021 Ram Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition loads of unique features, including chrome “Power Wagon 75 Years of Service” badges on the doors, grille mesh in matte black with a contrasting gunmetal RAM badge in the grille badge, and Diamond Black door, and tailgate graphics. Heavy steel rock rails double as side steps, while high-intensity LED headlamps with gloss black surrounds light the way. You’ll be riding high with a factory lift and standard 33-inch tires, mounted on unique 17-inch painted cast aluminum beadlock-capable wheels. Exterior colors include Maximum Steel Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Hydro Blue, Patriot Blue, Delmonico Red, Flame Red, Bright White and Olive Green, plus two Power Wagon-only colors: Molten Orange and Anvil Gray.
Inside, the 2021 Ram Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition goes big on luxury features, including bucket seats covered in Mountain Brown leather, and “Power Wagon 75” inserts on the doors and seats. The center console, dash and instrument panel get Gloss Black and Silverline accents. Kick out the jams as loud as you want, thanks to a standard 17-speaker, 750-watt premium audio system by Harmon Kardon, which you can control through the latest generation of Ram’s UConnect 12-inch center-dash touchscreen. Through that touchscreen, for the first time, you can access Ram’s all-new Off-Road Pages, with instant access to information like ride height, transfer case position, pitch and roll angle and reading from all important engine and temperature gauges.
Upping the already substantial capability of the 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is the 75th Anniversary Edition’s unique suspension, an electronic transfer case, locking differentials at the front and rear, electronic front sway bar disconnect and a ready-for-trouble 12,000-pound Zeon-12 winch from WARN with synthetic line.
