Ram wins third consecutive MotorTrend Truck of the Year honors
For over 70 years, when MotorTrend Magazine talks, the auto industry listens. That’s why it’s such a big deal that MotorTrend recently announced that Ram Trucks has clinched its third-consecutive Truck of the Year Award, with the all-new 702-horsepower 2021 Ram 1500 TRX helping Ram Three-Peat for 2021! It’s the first time an automaker has won “Truck of the Year” three times in a row in the history of MotorTrend. The win also marks the sixth time Ram has won Truck of the Year honors in the 11 years since Ram spun off from Dodge as its own standalone brand.
Featuring a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 similar to the engine found in modern, ultra-high-performance muscle cars like the Hellcat Charger and Challenger, the 2021 Ram TRX is the highest-horsepower factory production truck every built by any manufacturer, dwarfing the power output of also-rans like the Ford Raptor. Built on a unique frame, with the toughest 4×4 running gear, the 2021 Ram TRX is set to flip the script on the truck world when it debuts next year.
“The all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX sets the benchmark for extreme performance pickup trucks and clearly telegraphs the Ram Truck brand’s leadership in the segment,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand. “In a brutally competitive truck market, earning MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year title for three consecutive years is not only incredibly humbling, but it reaffirms the fact that we have the best light- and heavy-duty trucks on the road today.”
MotorTrend’s “Of The Year” competition is open to any all-new or substantially upgraded vehicle, with contestants being subjected to weeks of real-world testing by the editors of MotorTrend before being thoroughly evaluated at a professional automotive test center before the finalists are named. After testing determines the finalists for Truck of the Year, the winner is decided by how well it performs in each of the award’s six criteria: design advancement, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function.
“Never before has a brand won Car, Truck, or SUV of the Year in three consecutive years,” said MotorTrend Editor-in-Chief Mark Rechtin. “Winning this three-peat speaks to the excellence of the Ram pickup truck platform and the lengths their engineers and designers go to make it so dominant.”
With a stellar blend of performance, capability, safety, comfort and workhorse towing and hauling capacity Ram Trucks are steadily winning awards, and winning the hearts of new Ram truck owners every day. So what are you waiting for? Stop in today and test-drive the all-new 2021 Ram 1500 and see what all the critics are talking about! We look forward to meeting and exceeding your expectations, at Landers CDJR of Little Rock and Norman.
